Outdoor Learning at Alegra Infants
One of the differentiating aspects of the English National Curriculum is that the students have at their disposition areas and spaces that encourage them to explore, make decisions and grow in autonomy. In the British methodology, this is named “Continous Provision” or what is the same as an all-around learning environment.
Active Learning
In the British Curriculum, this happens inside the classroom and outdoors. Nursery and Reception teachers rotate through the different areas and guide the students with questions according to the previously planned objectives of each space. In the classroom’s outdoor area, the same happens, students are doing more than playing: they are learning!
This year the school renewed all the resources for outdoor learning, to ensure the highest quality level of education and to enable students to go deeper into the areas of development in Early Years: Communication and Language, Physical Development, Personal, Social, and Emotional Development, Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World, Expressive Arts, and Design
