Last Friday students from Year 1 and Year 2 had a great time learning about the past. To immerse themselves in the world of the past, they came to school dressed as people from the past. Year 2 students learned everything there is to know about the Great Fire of London 1666.
Activities to reinforce learning in Year 2
- Writing & Creativity. They crafted their “old paper” to write as Samuel Pepys, an English diarist and naval administrator who journaled the unfolding of the Great Fire.
- Arts & following instructions. Paper built houses that resemble the ones that got caught on the fire.
- History & Memory. A Great Fire of London Quiz Game competition for students.
- Listening & Writing. Listening to the lyrics of the Great Fire of London song, identifying the missing words on the sheet and writing them correctly.
